Intuit News Central: Tell us about you. How long have you been at Intuit, what is your current job?
Jorge Olavarrieta: I have been with Intuit for over 17 years. Over those years, I have been in various roles including positions in support, training, marketing and direct management for the Lacerte® tax product. My current role is product management lead for Intuit Tax Online, our software as a service, also known as SaaS, tax product for accountants.
Intuit: What is your favorite part of your job?
Jorge: Solving customer problems. At Intuit, we want to provide solutions to our customers that change their lives in such a profound way that they can’t imagine going back to the old way of doing things. Finding the opportunities where we can truly make a positive impact for accountants is what drives me on a daily basis.
Intuit: How would your friends describe you in 3 words (or so)?
Jorge: Honest, passionate and dependable … maybe even fun … maybe.
Intuit: What would you do if an elephant was in your backyard?
Jorge: Take pictures, feed it (I always have peanuts at my house), tell the kids to come check it out, then Google “what do you do with elephants in your backyard.”
