Thank you for your ideas, votes and comments to help us make Intuit® Tax Online the best it can be. We have many great things to look forward to and a few delightful surprises we hope will make your tax season the best it can be.

With the 77 submissions and 176 votes you shared with us, we refined our 2013 tax season priorities. Here are a few of the ideas we are going to go do and an update on some other highly requested items.

What we are committing to in tax year 2013:

  1. Adding 990 tax content.
  2. Enhanced client management on the client list screen: Quickly access refund amounts, status of returns and manage clients more effectively.
  3. Instantly populate an Intuit Tax Online return from QuickBooks® Online Accountant data.
  4. Improved performance: faster login, data entry return generation and streamlined navigation.

More to come:

  1. Organizer: A checklist is now available to assist with client data collection. We are currently running tests to provide a substantially better data collection solution for both you and for your customers. We will keep you updated on our progress.
  2. Client Portal: A way to collaborate with clients directly through Intuit Tax Online and the mobile application is under development, but it may not be ready for broad use in TY13.
  3. Training: Updated and new training for Intuit Tax Online will be launched in mid-October to give you plenty of time to ramp up for the tax season.
  4. More Data Import: We are actively working to reduce data entry. We know this will provide significant time savings for our customers.

Not everything will make it in the 2013 tax year

One of the most requested and highest voted feature is a customized client letter; it received 50 total votes. Although we understand the need for more customization, it is unlikely we will expand those capabilities for tax year 2013. This is certainly a priority we have on our list of to do items, but we are not prepared to deliver that at this time. It is on our roadmap.

We wish we could do everything you asked for, but we want to be realistic about what we can accomplish tax season. Because Intuit Tax Online is a cloud-based software, we continue to work on the application all year long and release updates in real-time. Therefore, expect to see a few bonus improvements throughout the season that didn’t make the cut for our November season launch. Again, thank you for helping us make Intuit Tax Online the #1 cloud-based tax software and fastest growing tax software in the market today.
